Coach's Corner
ROUND 8 2008

Coaches Corner…..

After 8 rounds we slowly crawled our way back into contention. Saturdays big win over Bridgewater was an excellent result to the guys after what was a sole searching week at training and around club, after one of the worse losses I have ever had as coach of this club. We have identified that our best footy is as good as any ones, but we also unfortunately lapse into some terrible footy, and the gap in between is far too wide. So the senior playing group have made some changes that will hopefully bridge that gap a little. Josh Contin’s month of football has needed to be seen to be believed. His past month has been awesome, and really has led by example. We have one game to go to complete the first round, and it is a huge game. We must be in the positive as we head into second round of season. We have a week off this week, due to Association Representative Football, and as a club we are very proud to have 4 players representing the club. Chris Shee, Matt Gardner, Josh Contin and Brad Dubios all thoroughly deserve the chance to play rep footy, and unfortunately Shaun Smith has had to pull out due to Knee soreness. Good luck boys we are all proud of you..

The “B” grade got back on the winners list after a small hiccup against Blackwood, another good win on Sat against Bridgewater was a good return to form, and they are really setting them self up for a big finals campaign. Some good footy by Craig Smith, Christopher Blowes and Aaron Galvin over the past few weeks, keeps pressure on the boys upstairs. Also big congratulations to Paul Tanner and the Junior Colts, who knocked off the more fancied Bridgewater on Saturday. These boys are improving weekly, and are now challenging for a spot in final 5.  Finally, thank you to everyone at the club for the continued support, we really are lucky to have so many wonderful people all contributing to the success of the club both on and off the field. A big game for us Sat week, and hopefully we get a big crowd to our home ground and stick it to Mt Barker.

Go u Doggies..
