Coach's Corner
ROUND 13 2008

Coaches Corner

After some indifferent form over the past few months, its been very rewarding to see a couple of weeks of good footy being played CONSISTENTLY by the A grade, after a poor first quarter against Mt Lofty two weeks ago, we really powered home to just go down and it really started us playing some good footy. The commitment from the boys has been a lot better and better form is coming from it. Saturdays win over Birdwood was rewarding, we really put 4 good quarters together and ran out 20 goal winners.

On Saturday we welcomed a new player to our family in Ryan Tutt. Ryan has joined us from Norwood Football Club, and has not only showed his talent as a player, but also bought a level of professionalism and character to the club that is very much appreciated. Welcome Ryan, and all the best for the rest of the year.

Great game by Stephen Tanner on the weekend, Stephen’s clearance work and ball skills in close was just awesome, and he really stamped his class on the game early and continued it throughout the whole game. Also Mason Angove in the ruck showed why he is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the competition.

Unfortunately the B grade are in a form slump and confidence is down a bit. Boys have to really change their attitude, and start working harder on the track to get the results they need to keep their finals chances alive. T

his weeks game against Uraidla is a complete season defining moment for the A grade, we need to win to keep the dream alive. Potential is an ugly word in football, but we are the best 7th team in the competition forever I reckon, and if we can get there potentially, we can give this competition a shake, but the issue is getting there. So this weeks game is a must win.

The week after we play Lobethal in what is going to be a huge day for the club, with all our sponsors on hand to enjoy there annual sponsor appreciation day,  but just as important is the reunion of the 1998 B grade premiership team, which is going to bring some club greats back to enjoy their piece of history within our Football club.

Anyway lets get the results needed this Saturday first, and hope to see you at the Footy…

Go u Doggies,
